Right now, all I have been searching for are a pair of penny loafers to wear to work. When searching for loafers, I have been looking for pairs that still keep the general shape and design of classic loafers. I love the history of the penny loafer, and it doesn't seem right to buy a loafer that isn't in keeping with the classic design.
Why are they called "penny loafers"?
American prep school students in the 1950's began putting a penny into the slit on the top of the loafer, thus the name penny loafer was born.
These suede loafers by Tod's I became really fond of for a couple of
reasons. The first is that they look so unbelievable comfortable. The
second is because coral is such a hot color this season, and it would be
an excellent addition to my wardrobe.
